The Competition
This year, SCIMF will launch its first competition for young musicians on August 12, 2018. There will be three categories:
Category A:
Age: 7 - 11
Repertoire: One solo piece chosen by applicant
Time limit: 4 minute
Prize:
1st place: $150
2nd place: $100
3rd place: $50
Category B:
Age: 12-14
Repertoire: One or two solo pieces chosen by applicant
Time limit: 6 minute
Prize:
1st place: $200
2nd place: $100
3rd place: $50
Category C:
Age: 15 and up
Repertoire: One or two solo pieces chosen by applicant
Time Limit: 8 minute
Prize:
1st place: $250
2nd place: $100
3rd place: $50
Rules and Regulations
1. Students enter the competition according to their age on August 1,2018
2. All pieces need to be memorized.
3. Decisions of the judges are final.
4. Judges have the right to stop students at any time during the competition.
5. Students must be present at the festival final concert to receive their awards.
6. Both festival participants and non-festival participant can apply for the competition.
7. Registration fee for non- festival participants is $35. Registration fee for festival participants is waived. To apply, please email information@scimf.org for forms and instructions.
